  1. A Proposal for Wireless Data Transport Development Powered by Patent Pending Technology

  2. Goal • Commercialization of new Technology • Prototype Development • Securing VC funding

  3. Current Support • Office of Technology Development, NJIT • Som Sengupta, Inventor

  4. High Exposure Project • Linux Kernel development • Understanding the up coming wireless data technology • Hands on work with Symbian OS • Symbian is the common platform for wireless data communication

  5. Big Players Supporting Wireless Data Communications • CISCO • JUNIPER NETWORKS • NOKIA • SUN • SIEMENS

  6. Project Definition • Development of a Transport layer protocol for wireless medium • Use of Open source technology to rollout the implementation

  7. Project Outline • The patent pending TCP protocol will be supplied • Investigation on how does Linux networking work • Investigation on how does Symbian networking work • Implementation of the modules reflecting the functionalities of the above protocols for both the OSs • Figure out how to load kernel module to Symbian OS

  8. Project Outline-cont’d • Enable the Linux box with GSM card • Run end2end data exchange between a Symbian loaded handset and the Linux Box • Both the Linux box and the Symbian handset will act as two GSM phones connecting to each other. The GSM card will come with a cell number

  9. Take Away • Build your career in Wireless technology
