Colombo Sri Lanka : Marginal impacts on aviation - Isolated Thunderstorms, eastern side of Sri Lanka increased Thunderstorm and rain shower activity and possible flash flooding. 2. Banda Aceh: Marginal Impacts on aviation - Scattered Thunderstorms, rain showers, low ceilings. 3. U-Taphao and Dawei: Marginal Impacts on aviation – 1 - 3 NM visibility in haze and morning fog. 4. Phuket: Marginal impacts on aviation – Isolated afternoon Thunderstorms, low ceilings, and visibility. 5. All areas in the AOR will have Marginal IMPACTS ON PERSONEL with daytime temperatures exceeding 85F.

Indonesia • Laskar Mujahidin – Extremist group with Al-Qaida links • Established a camp vic Banda Aceh • Camp sign posted in English: “Islamic Law Enforcement” • Killed 9,000 Christians from 1999-2001 in Indonesia’s Maluku Islands • From Indonesia’s main island of Java Jakarta Malukus Java Sumatra Assessment: Laskar Mujahidin will use humanitarian mission to gain support from fiercely independent Acehnese who have driven out similar groups in recent years. Laskar Mujahidin will attempt to “stoke anti-western sentiment” and wait for signs of waning public support to outside relief efforts before seeking opportunities to attack.

Sri Lanka • Sri Lankan Govt: Massive aid influx drops number of IDPs sharply from 800,000+ (PIR 1) • All four hospitals vic Ampara destroyed/ damaged beyond use (PIR 1) • 798 total IDP camps, conc. along E coast and vic Galle (PIR 1) • Infectious disease spread reporting - acute diarrhea, conc. in 30 camps vic Batticaloa.
