Budgeting Helpful Hints • Aim High • The Devil is in the details. • Anything that is not under your control, check twice. • Revisions are your friend. • Have a back-up plan. • How much is a good contingency in a budget? • You can only spend your budget balance carry-forward once. • Be consistent. • Never second guess the legislature. • Don’t ever cut copy paper, toilet paper, or pencil budgets. • Never assume anything. • Brevity is the Soul of Wit.
