Marble is a sleek, durable, economical and graceful natural stone which is usually used for different purposes like flooring bathroom décor and interior, showers, kitchen countertops, etc. Apart from these, there are many items that are made from marbles like handicraft works, unique wall watches, fountains, sculptures, etc.
Among so many natural stones available out there in the market, marble is one of the most preferred not only because it is so economical but also because it comes with so many different colors and designs that it is suitable to fit anywhere and everywhere. Happily, we get marbles installed at our places, but we do not pay any attention to what comes after that, the cleaning and the maintenance.
If you regularly clean the marbles, they won’t cost you much like if you get them cleaned after long intervals. To keep the shine and glory of the stone alive, it is important to have a fair knowledge of how to clean it. Sharing some of the tips.
Cleaning regular marble Marble is considered as very porous substance which can sustain stains very easily. You need to make sure that you clean the acidic drinks like alcohol, juices, liquor, etc. And while doing this, remember not to opt for a circular motion of cleaning or wiping. Rather just let a clean, soft towel soak it all. Also, never ever keep your glasses or cups on a marble without using a coaster or this might end up leaving rings forever.
It is always recommended to clean your marbles regularly with dish washing detergent and warm water. You must follow this step at least twice a year. Wash the marble with solution then rinse it with warm damp cloth and finally dry it with the towel.
Cleaning dull marble If you find that the marble has gone dull and lost its shine and attraction because of ignorance and lack of regular cleaning, do not think of replacing them. There’s a way you can bring back the shine of the marbles at your place. All you need to do is to purchase a commercial grade marble cleaner and polish. If you do not find that, putty powder or tin acid can also work for cleaning and polishing dull marble. Just apply it with damp cloth on the Indian marble surface and then use electric polisher to polish the marble stone.
