  2. Goals • Provide a nurturing day care program for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old • Create a self-funding program for the Barnegat School District which may positively impact revenue

Benefits for employees of the Barnegat School District… • Promote longevity within our staff by offering a program only one other district in Ocean County has. • Increase productivity for staff who can attend meetings, plan, and prep with colleagues or admin after school. • Attend professional development days while your child is close by. • Children are cared for in a nurturing environment! • Yes – you may visit or call to check on your children!

Staffing & Ratios • Bengal Cubs Coordinator – Jill Sidote • Ran successful day care centers for the Department of Defense (17 years) • Provided successful private day care prior to working in Barnegat • Resident of Barnegat • “Care Givers” – Early Learning Center workers • Ratios are: • 1:4 for students up to 12 months of age • 1:7 for students up to 2 years old • 1:10 for students up to 3.5 years old • 1:12 for students from 3.5 years to five • Utilizing Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers under the State of New Jersey, Department of Children and Families as a guideline.

  6. Bengal Cubs Early Learning Center Inclusions… • Open five days per week • Minimum attendance – 2 days per week • Open September through June • *** now considering being open July/August • Modeled after the Toms River Early Learning Center

Benefits for your little Bengals… • Provide stability for children who need care. • Bengal Cubs have the opportunity to interact with school aged children. • Bengal Cubs exposed to the schools they may be attending. • Ample space for all ages of children and potential growth of the program. • Playground facilities as well as indoor activity areas will be available. • Lunch/snacks will be provided.

  11. Next Steps… • Registration for new students is open! • Complete the application located on the district website.
