    5. Writing practice pays off

    6. Write in your comp notebook during every class

    7. To begin essay assignments, bring a working thesis statement to class

    8. Basic sentence: subject + verb + completed idea The sky is blue. Students are bored by long lectures. Good students practice writing every week. Good teachers aim to inspire students. To avoid procrastination, take action but don’t wait. Studying sentences structure will set you free!

    9. Even better, bring an outline including a working thesis statement sentences outlines are most helpful write in your composition notebook students must work in class and keep copies of all writing stages

    10. For peer review sessions, bring a typed rough draft to class (printed and stapled) Bring something typed!

    11. Each Week: Bring all necessary supplies memory stick e-mail passwords prewriting composition notebook nonfiction book Keys for Writers textbook pen and/or pencil stapler dictionary

    12. Always bring your folder of writing Yes! Every week so you’re always prepared to talk one on one Collect all your writing in one folder Review your progress throughout the semester

    13. Meet paper due dates

    14. Late papers mean trouble. Talk to me and take action to get back on track.

    15. Please don’t put papers in my faculty mailbox. Hand in copies directly.

    16. Print and staple your papers at home

    17. Self motivate. In and out of class, revise original graded versions and seek feedback. Aim high!

    18. Good feelings are healthy, safe and free! Beam a sense of accomplishment! Share your ideas!

    19. On Week Fifteen, turn in a writing portfolio of well composed essays that makes you feel proud!
