  2. Welcome! We miss you!!! Let’s connect! Unmute your microphone or type in the chat box What is one thing you made/learned/explored/experienced about a Family Science project during quarantine??? 2

  3. Here are the basics for Fair prep! • TODAY is enrollment deadline. You can drop or add projects until midnight! • June 15 is the earliest we are allowed to do in-person programs. • July 15 – Fair Entry forms are due. • Waiting for Governor’s guidelines on Static Exhibit entries. • (Likely 2 options – limited interview judging in-person OR written interview questions/responses submitted with each project.) • Last resort – Virtual Showcase 3

So how will we learn this summer? • NEW Niobrara National Scenic River Connections Exhibit Category! • Check the last few pages of the NEW Premium Book available on the Cherry Co. 4-H website under “Fair”. • Many existing projects apply – Photography, Wildlife Conservation, Entomology, Heritage, Child Development, and more!! • How can YOU relate your project to our backyard wonder?? • Special recognition – ribbons and awards for top prizes. Banner on Park Service office. 7 4-H is the youth development organization of our nation’s Cooperative Extension System and USDA.

So, how will we learn this summer? • Barn Quilt Workshop in-person! • July 1, 6:30 pm CT @ Extension Office • Organizational meeting • Please pre-register by June 19 by calling 402-376-1850 in case we need to stagger how many people are there at a time • We will schedule paint sessions (new technique will take more than one) based on feedback from meeting 8 4-H is the youth development organization of our nation’s Cooperative Extension System and USDA.

  9. So how will we learn this summer? Nebraska 4-H #Count Us In – Help with the U.S. Census! • Can create a 4-H Citizenship Project • Did you know that $20,960 is lost to Nebraska in a 10-year span for one person being missed in the Census count? • Nebraska 4-H are providing promotional information to help families complete the Census. • There is a Bingo card with activities for youth to complete related to the Census. • All youth who participate will receive a water bottle, those that complete a Bingo will get a waterproof cell phone holder, and if they complete a Blackout, they will get an Underamour backpack. • Youth can show how they are helping Nebraska complete the Census by posting photos to #4HCOUNTUSIN.

Other In-Person Events Clothing Day is still July 7 • Pre-registration due June 29 • Will be at the Extension Office so we can use multiple rooms, social distance, etc. • Barn Quilts will NOT be included this year – we will judge at Fair 10 4-H is the youth development organization of our nation’s Cooperative Extension System and USDA.
