Overview • Four-lane, 61 km motorway, stretching northeast from Rreshen in central Albania to Kalimash on the country's border with Kosovo • Integral part of the Durres to Morine route, currently the largest infrastructure project in the region • The project maximizes Albanian content in staffing, purchasing and subcontracting 2

Project Key Features • The Project is being implemented as a fast-track process • The challenge is to complete this key infrastructure link in as short a time as possible • Full support of the Client • Team working with GRD • Serious engagement of Albanian institutions • Strong collaboration with the local community 4

  5. 5.5 km long Twin bores; 85 m2 cross section Drilling operations on both bores on both sides of the tunnel (i.e. 4 faces) Drilling and blasting operations based on the New Austrian Tunnel Method (NATM) 2 and 3 boom drills used in the tunnel Volume of Works; Tunnel 5

  6. 55.5 km of road alignment Major quantities: Clearing and grubbing: 565 ha Excavation: 33 million m3 Fill: 13 million m3 Daily excavation approx 70,000 m3 Major equipment includes: 3 crusher plants 6 concrete batch plants 250 trucks 70 excavators Volume of Works; Earthworks 6

  7. 29 bridges in the design, 10 over 80 m high 4.4 km of bridge roadway Beams: 40 m long, weighing 165 t each Placed by launchers or cranes Structural concrete quantity: 365,000 m3 Major equipment includes: 6 tower cranes 1 beam plant 6 concrete plants Volume of Works; Structures 7

  8. 3,700 people employed at peak 2,500 Albanians Training and expertise in all aspects of construction – safety, equipment, specialized software, construction techniques, procurement and contracting standards Employment & Training 8
