  3. Physical Description • Humanoid- all male • Fanged • Often dirty • Largest are almost human height • Some are as small as hobbits • Can crossbreed with man • Have long ape-like arms • Broad • Crooked backs and legs • Black blood • Zombie-like • Speculated to be immortal but no one is sure

  4. Location • Misty Mountains • Mordor • Isengard

  5. Languages • Does not have their own language • Corrupted mish-mash of various languages • Black Speech is widely used • “Uglúk u bagronkshapushdugSaruman-glob búbhoshskai!” • translation: "Uglúk to the cesspool, sha! the dungfilth; the great Saruman-fool, skai!".

  7. Notable Characters • The Great Goblin-only one specifically named in “The Hobbit” • Azog- chieftain who started a war between dwarves and orcs- son Bolg • Snaga- one Orc is at one time called this, but is actually a term for lower-rank Orcs
