  2. Habitat • They live mostly in the Canadian Arctic, Alaska and parts of Greenland. • During Fall and Winter they are always moving. • During Spring the pregnant female goes and finds a den to have it’s pups. • Normally they sleep near rocks.

  3. Adaptations • It has long legs to run quickly and get it’s food before it runs away. • They have very keen eyes and ears which can hear things from even a mile away. • They have large teeth to tear meat and penetrate skin. • They have a black nose and black • trimmed ears to keep their ears and • nose warm.

  4. More Adaptations • They have a thick pad on the bottom of each paw which keeps it warm. • Their barking can keep other wolves away from their food. Also every single wolf’s howl is different so they know if they are in the right place or not. • Because they have such a good sense of hearing, they can hear another wolves howling 5 miles away.

  7. Interesting Facts • An Arctic Wolf’s hunting range is huge. One pack of wolves can cover 800-1,000 sq. miles of land. • An Arctic wolf will eat every part of an Arctic Hare’s body, even the bones, meat, and skin. • Arctic wolves are one of the least known species of wolves. • Pups are born deaf and blind so they depend on their mother to take care of them and the male to bring food.

  8. More Interesting Facts • Do you know that arctic wolves can eat 10 pounds of meat in one meal? That allows them to go days or even a week without food. • Arctic wolves almost never chew their food. They just swallow it whole. • The alpha male and female are the most respected wolves in a clan. • Arctic wolves are one of a few species of wolves that have not been hunted by hunters very much.
