NATIONAL TEMPUS OFFICESROLE Information and promotion activities Promote and disseminate all information regarding the Tempus programme and other EU programmes in the field of higher education (eg: Erasmus Mundus) Organise conferences, seminars, information days, and other actions and events to promote the Tempus programme and to exploit its results Observe and disseminate the latest visibility guidelines concerning acknowledgement of EU financing of all Tempus projects and activities

NATIONAL TEMPUS OFFICESACTIVITIES Assistance to potential applicants and to beneficiaries Advise, inform and assist potential applicants Organise information/contact meetings, seminars for potential applicants Assist in the search of national or foreign partners (liaise with other NTOs or EU Member States National Contact Points) Assistance to institutions involved in project implementation (in relation to visa, tax, importing equipment and contacts with local authorities) Promote inter project cooperation and enhance synergy between projects

NATIONAL TEMPUS OFFICESACTIVITIES Field monitoring Organise and conduct field monitoring visits Assist EACEA and other actors in their field monitoring / audit visits Assist EU officials or experts contracted by the EU/EACEA in their visits to the country (sectoral studies, policy studies, project identification or formulation, mid term or final evaluations)

  5. NATIONAL TEMPUS OFFICESACTIVITIES And also… Maintain regular contacts with all stakeholers (local authorities, universities, etc) Support to the teams of Higher education reform Experts. For all their tasks, National Tempus Offices will work closely with the EU Delegations

  6. HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTS PROFILE Members of the HEREs Team shall hold one of the following positions (or a combination thereof): (Vice-)Rectors Deans Senior Academics Directors of Study International Relations Officers Higher Education Experts Students

  7. HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTS OBJECTIVES To support Tempus partner countries in intiating / implementing reforms to modernise their HE systems & to converge with EU developments Stronger links with the Bologna process Networking & cooperation with the EU National Teams of Bologna experts

HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTSROLE To provide a pool of expertise to the partner country progress towards the HE modernisation agenda To participate actively in the development of policies/reforms in their country To promote awareness of the toolsavailable to non-academic bodies (industry; social organisations) To contribute to the training of experts in their country

HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTSActivities at Local Level Participating in training seminars, conferences Speaking at training seminars, conferences Attending meetings linked to the Bologna process Advising the universities (on the Bologna process) Promoting material (translated & published) Writing articles Conducting surveys (state of play of national reforms) Contact with all stakeholders, including students

HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTSActivities at International level Material  web pages on Higher Education Reforms, brochures, casebooks, power point presentations on Bologna Process objectives and priorities; membership to a Bologna Experts' Virtual Community Events  Invited to international and regional training Seminars, workshops on themes connected to the core issues of the modernisation of higher education institutions, including governance, curricula development, funding and lifelong learning. Technical assistance  Taylor-made technical assistance from EU experts

HIGHER EDUCATION REFORMS EXPERTSImpact and opportunities  Added value to the reform/modernisation process  Multiplier effect: training of trainers at local level, presentations in universities; meetings with students, articles in the press  Networking between HERE; Bologna experts from EU Member States  Exchange of best practice between HERE’s  Disseminators, translators of HE reforms in their own country  Raising awareness about reforms according to the Bologna process  Analysis, surveys, recommendations, publications, websites, lectures OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEMPUS BENEFICIARIES TO LIAISE WITH HERES (via NTOs)
