  1. A Review of Egypt FTS Travels from a North American Perspective

  2. I’ll be honest with you: I might want to travel to distant lands and see things like the Parthenon and the Pyramids of Giza, but I still prefer my creature comforts. What I don’t like to do is “rough it”, as some people put it. On a recent visit to Egypt, it was my goal to do just that while seeing some of the great sights in that ancient nation.

  3. The first thing I appreciated was that FTS Travels was there to take care of just about everything, including accommodations, meet and greets, limos, tours, and they even sent someone to pick me up at the airport! It was the Egypt tours that I was really looking forward to, though. For some of these, I didn’t want to go wherever for the weekend; I was just looking for some simple Egypt day tours and so I took a look to see what they had.

  4. I was delighted to find that not only did they do that but they did day trips from Hurghada and day trips from Cairo, too! That was a BIG bonus to me as these were two of my major stops in Egypt. But, let’s be honest, I wasn’t just looking for Egypt day tours, I was looking for cheap Egypt tours! This was, once again, something that FTS had in store for me, which was a great relief. But, enough about that, what about the day trips! Well, the Giza Pyramids were a must, and that was something I definitely took care of within a couple of days. When people say they are a must-see, they aren’t lying. They’re simply amazing to see! After that, I took care of going to Luxor, where people might have heard that those mummies were just unearthed, and visited the Valley of the Kings on a good bus drive to the area.

  5. Be aware, I was there during the summer, so it got pretty toasty. Outside of the winter and fall months, you might want to dress lightly and bring some water with you. Having said that, FTS got me in there and out of there without any trouble and were around when I needed them. Besides that, it’s a fantastic experience to see just how intact it all is after thousands of years.

  6. It’s not just the Cairo day trips that can take you out to Luxor, though. They also can take you to some great places in the city, itself. There is a great day tour that goes to the Egyptian Museum where you can view a lot of the antiquities recovered to view. I couldn’t believe it when I was told that they have some one hundred and twenty-thousand items there

  7. Besides that, I also got to see some really old churches, a Roman fort, and the Citadel of Salah Ed-Din, which is this massive castle that was abandoned something like seven hundred years ago! Once at Hurghada, I had the opportunity to take another day trip to Luxor. I was tempted, but was too enthused to do a few Hurghada Excursions. The one I was most excited to go and see was Abydos. Now, many people haven’t heard of Abydos, outside of a certain science-fiction series. So what is it?

  8. Abydos is one of the most important cities of Ancient Egypt and it’s still there! It’s one of the most exciting things to do in Hurghada. There is a lot to see there, although I got the impression that a lot of it is still buried under the sand. Again, FTS was good at getting me there without any trouble and pretty comfortably. No complaints here. From there, we continued on to the Dendera Temple complex, which is just kind of imposing when you see it for the first time! There’s what’s left of a lot of other buildings around it, but what’s just so friggin’ incredible is that the temple is still all there!

  9. I know what people might be thinking, but it’s not like other Greek and Roman temples where just the outer walls are still there, and that’s it. No, the roof is still on the place! It was just phenomenal to get a chance to see something like that! After that, FTS brought me home with a big smile on my face. Overall, I would have to say that my experience with FTS was a very positive one. I was able to get to the airport and back without a problem. Everyone was very courteous and professional. The hotel rooms were great and the Egypt Excursions were top-notch at a really good price.

  10. But, everyone says that right? The question that people always ask to really test someone on their experience with a travel or tour company is: “Would you do it again?” With these guys, I can say: “Absolutely, yes!”
