  3. Let’s look at some examples… • 24 • -18 ← bigger on the bottom • So what must you do ? • Borrow from the tens column

  4. Example problem • 24 • -18←( bigger ) • 1214 • - 1 8 • 0 6 ← 14-8 = 6 • In the tens column 1-1 = 0
