  1. Sampling and Filtering Techniques for IP Packet Selection- Update - draft-ietf-psamp-sample-tech-04.txt Tanja Zseby, FhG FOKUS Maurizio Molina, NEC Europe Ltd. Fredric Raspall, NEC Europe Ltd. Nick Duffield, AT&T Labs

  2. Open Issue from last meeting • Open Issue: IPR on Hash Function • 2 mandatory hash functions • Potential IPR from AT&T • Now AT&T IPR statement: http://www.ietf.org/ietf/IPR/att-ipr-draft-ietf-psamp-framework.txt • Solution: Will include IPR statement in next version • Open Issue: Hash function support for IPv6 and MPLS • IPSX does not support IPv6 • Solution: other function ? additional function? Limit MUST to IPv4 ? draft-ietf-psamp-sample-tech-04.txt

  3. New Open Issue: Filter Definition • Currently low-level filter definition • Based on bitfield computation (masks, ranges) • Generic but complicates filtering definition, reporting • Problems with Info Model (see mail from Thomas Dietz)  High level filter definition needed • Proposal: Call for proposals to express complex filters • If no suitable proposal (within next 3 weeks)  Use simple definition + vendor extensions • Filter based on IPFIX fields • only AND operation • no OR operation • no ranges • Everything else vendor specific • Substitute current definition draft-ietf-psamp-sample-tech-04.txt

  4. Minor Issues • Some Restructuring • Move sampling schemes (3.1) from scope (section 3.) to new section on sampling (new section 4) • PSAMP and IPFIX: combine text from terminology and scope section into new section or just add reference ? • Allow concatenated selector IDs • To express combinations of selectors • Add example for stratified sampling • Double-check consistency with new FW draft • Some minor changes (terms in upper case, typos, etc.) draft-ietf-psamp-sample-tech-04.txt
