  2. Setting • The setting is on the east side of oklahoma in 1967

  4. Conflict • The greasers are trying to avoid getting caught by the cops and beat up by the Socs. This conflict is man vs. man.

  5. Summary of Plot • Life as a greaser is hard, you could get beat up by the Socs, you could be put in jail, and you have to stay with other greasers.

  6. Theme • One Sentence Theme: surviving life • Text Evidence 1: having problems • Text Evidence 2: getting injured • Text Evidence 3: being caught

  7. Point of View • This book is first-person because he says either “I,me,or my” in the story.

  8. Symbolism • Greasers are poor and have long hair, wear blue jeans ,t-shirts, and leather jackets. It would change the story because the Socs wouldn’t be chasing them.

  9. Recommendation • It’s a very good story and I think people should read it
