  3. ITC has already supported 39 countries Gabon Grenada Lesotho Nigeria Zimbabwe Chad Swaziland Benin Mauritius Ecuador Cote d'Ivoire Paraguay Angola St Lucia Guinea-Bissau Dom. Rep Mozambique Nicaragua Congo Haiti Burkina Faso Jamaica Gambia Honduras Sierra Leone DRC Central African Republic Togo Senegal Cabo Verde Togo Mali Niger Madagascar Micronesia Marshall Islands Palau Tajikistan Mongolia And 5 more are planned until the EoY

ITC contributed to the notification and/or ratification of 20+ countries Category A notification • Among the 39 countries that ITC supported, 19 have already notified their category A to the WTO • Antigua and Barbuda, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Gabon, Grenada, Honduras, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Senegal, Tajikistan Ratification • And 4 have ratified the Protocol of Amendment • Mauritius, Nicaragua, Niger and Togo

ITC promotes the business perspective in the implementation of the TFA ITC initiatives build on through quantitate and qualitative analysis of business needs, and SMEs’ in particular • Over 10,000 business interviewed in ITC Non-Tariff Measures surveys ITC has involved over 1,500 businesses in the categorization process of developing countries and LDCs • Reflecting private sector needs from different areas: SMEs, sectorial associations, Chambers of Commerce, logistics service providers The ITC has given a strong position to the private sector in the 4 Trade Facilitation Committees it has established / strengthened

The ITC promotes SME-friendly methodologies for TFA implementation • Design qualification criteria that can be met by SMEs • Most existing AEO schemes automatically exclude smaller businesses • Build capacity of SME to apply to the AO schemes • Through dedicated awareness raising and training events Authorized Operators Enquiry points • Ensure services beyond capital/port city and in local languages • Implementation of EP at border posts (including free terminals connected to the trade facilitation portal) • EP Service in Swahili, not just English, at border posts in Tanzania Electronic payment • Identify and implement payment methods which SMEs are more likely to use • E.g. mobile money in Zimbabwe
