  3. CREATE YOUR FOLDERS This is where you will put all your graphic files. Also, this is where you will direct all your files to link to.

  4. fonts • 3 fonts MAXIMUM! • Safe Web Fonts: Arial / Helvetica Times New Roman / Times Courier NEW / Courier • Other options that work cross-platform are: Palatino, Garamond, Bookman, AvanteGuarde • http://web.mit.edu/jmorzins/www/fonts.html

  5. Color: • Color scheme: Use Color Scheme Designer on teacher page. • Make a note of your COLORS you are using. Hecadecimal numbers. (6) For example, #FF3333.

  7. Buttons • Create categories (Home, Contact, etc…) • Different shapes of buttons • Use Filters: Emboss, drop shadow, metallic effect, etc… • Think about how the rollovers will look.

  8. Graphics • Graphics of interest • Save as PNG file

  9. Eye patterns & layouts • The Z Layout: The eye will naturally follow the path of the Z. • The numbered key points below represent the order in which the reader is likely to view the page content.

  13. Organize first! • Organize your website idea. • Make a rough draft of how you want your website created. As you go, your idea may change slightly. • Think about CATEGORIES! • Think about COLORS! • Think about GRAPHICS! • WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE? • Think aboutDESIGN!
