  1. List of Project Phases in Project Planning Educationedge

  2. Project planning is done to organise the work and manage the time frame for each task so that the process can run smoothly. It consists of a written possibility and work agenda with connections to the goal, risk, deliverable, and predetermined targets. Planning is required regardless of the project's size. We break down complex tasks into small tasks when creating modules to make them more manageable. In its PMBOK, the PMI has identified the five phases of a project as follows:

  3. Initiation The project initiation phase is the first in the project management life cycle. A goal and objective are created to define the problem or opportunity in detail and to identify a preferred solution for implementation.

  4. Planning Project planning is the process of defining a project's scope, as well as its objectives and steps to achieve them. The project planning process yields a project management plan. In the second phase, work process modules and methodologies are developed. It is entirely focused on the output.

  5. Execution The project execution stage of the project life cycle is often the most time-consuming and difficult. It typically starts with a series of meetings and status reports and ends with a productivity assessment.

  6. Monitoring & Controlling Using a variety of monitoring tools and progress reports, this phase collaborates with the execution phase to meet deadlines.

  7. Closure We consider a project completed once it has been formally handed over. All contracts and documentation pertaining to the project's execution and follow-up will be examined.

  8. The role of a project manager is broader, and planning is the first step toward meeting deliverables. You can move on to the next step after you've figured out what project planning entails. Now is the time to get down to work. You can improve your project management skills by taking a PMP prep course. Enrol now in Education Edge's training programme for a bright future.
