  13. Automobile Recycling (ASR treatment) Automobile manufacturers and car importers are required by law to recover and recycle ASRs, air bags and CFCs arising from discarded automobiles. Mitsui (and Mitsui Bussan Metals) is entrusted with back-office operations of the ASR process from ART team. Malaysia – Project with SDP MOU with Sime Darby and TENEGA on biogas power generation In April 2011, Mitsui signed a memorandum with Sime Darby Plantation (SDP), a major Malaysian government linked palm oil company, and Tenaga Natsional Bhd (TNB), a government linked power company, providing for a joint study concerning the commercial viability of biogas generation at palm oil extraction plants owned by SDP.
