  1. Shakers and Bakers A presentation by Michael Nottenkamper

  2. We are building a custom gondola to fit a recording microphone and a barometer to record pressure and to correlate to altitude. Experiment

  3. We believe that the air pressure will affect the pressure/amplitude of a transmitted sound wave. Reduced pressure would then result in reduced amplitude of a transmitted sound wave. Hypothesis

  4. Procedure Record barometric pressure and correlated to altitude using Vernier Lab Pro software Simultaneously recorded a 5000 hz pulsed frequency produced from a small metronome exactly one inch from the microphone. Analyzed the pressure/amplitude of the sound waves using Vernier pressure analysis

  5. Altitude Data

  6. Sound Pressure data There were no significant changes in the sound pressure changes. The microphone did not pic up the metronome but was able to pick up human whistling.

  7. Conclusion/thanks Thank you to my mentors and teacher for all the support thank you for letting me participate, is there any questions?
