The Philippine Digital National ID is the official digital version of the PhilSys National ID, accessible through the eGovPH app or web portal. It serves as valid proof of identity and age, carrying the same legal weight as the physical ID. It includes a QR code for authentication and can be stored on smartphones or computers. ? Launch and Timeline The Digital National ID was launched in mid-2024 by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). It was released to the public shortly after, providing citizens with a faster, paperless way to access their national ID. ? Security and Authentication Security is a top priority for the digital ID. It uses encrypted QR codes and biometric data that can be verified through official systems like eVerify and National ID Check.
