ULTIPLY XPONENT ARANTHESE IVIDE DD UBTRACT P.E.M.D.A.S By: Brittney Trinh Period 4
First Step Do the parentheses. + 6 ÷ 2 – 1 × 2 It is now: + 6 ÷ 2 – 1 × 2
Second Step Do the exponent. + 6 ÷ 2 – 1 × 2 It is now: 4 + 6 ÷ 2 – 1 × 2
Third Step Do either the multiplication or the division. This step is done from right to left, so if the multiplication is before the division, you do that first, and if the division is before the multiplication, you do that first. 4 + 6 ÷ 2 – 1 × 2 It is now: 4 + 3 – 1 × 2 4 + 3 - 2
Lastly Do either the addition or the subtraction. This step is done from right to left. If the addition is on the right, you do that first. If the subtraction is on the right, you do that first. 4 + 3 - 2 It is now: 7 – 2 ANSWER: 5
