Phase 1: Introductory RDA Training Why is this training important • In addition to a new RDA Toolkit, official RDA introduced many new terms and concepts • Being able to use the RDA Toolkit and understand the new terms and concepts is essential for implementation • Later trainings will be more successful if you have a basic understanding of new terms and concepts • It will take time before you fully understand the new terms and concepts, but you will get there 7
Phase 1: Introductory RDA Training How to use this training • Self-study • Training cataloging staff locally (e.g., within your institution), regionally (e.g., within your consortia), or nationally • This training has been designed for virtual or in-person instruction • Training materials may be adapted to meet the needs of your staff or audience, but credit must be given to the PCC SCT RDA Training Task Group: Monographs 8

Phase 2: RDA in Practice • FORTHCOMING • At the end of the Phase 2 training, you will be able to: • Catalog print and electronic book monographs using the official RDA Toolkit, LC-PCC Application Profiles, LC-PCC Policy Statements, and Metadata Guidance Documentation • Locate and interpret RDA instructions to answer cataloging questions • PCC will have a rolling implementation of official RDA from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2027. Continue to catalog using the original RDA Toolkit until instructed otherwise. 10
