Meeting Organization • Jule Coughlan, Board Member • If you are interested in a position on the Board of Directors, give your name to Jule before 8:00 tonight. • Identify yourself when you address the group • Board member roles: • 3 year term, 4 meetings min /year • Support MLA activities • Interface with partners (EP/WD District) • Good opportunity to get involved

Background Information • Introductions of your Current Board • Steering Committee had its first meeting in March, 2006 and the association was officially founded in September, 2006. • MLA is now 5 years old with 109 members • Formed partnerships with: • Citizens/property owners (Lakeshore Res,etc) • Watershed District (Citizens Adv- Main $ Source) • City of Eden Prairie (Edu./Rain Gardens) • Dept. of Nat Res (Grants/Reclassification)

  5. Background Information • Set an overall goal to achieve a grade level of B from a current grade of D+ as determined by the Met Council in ten years • Key components that determines the grade: • Levels of Phosphorous • Levels of Chlorophyll • Sechie Disk (water clarity)

  6. Accomplishments Sponsored 5th annual Lakeshore Cleanup & Picnic in April

  7. Accomplishments • DNR Grant of $33,000 awarded for lakeshore restoration: fifth and final project completed: • Timberlake Association Commons (~300’- Island Road) • Tyler, Nehl and Saxton Residences, Timberlake HOA

  8. Accomplishments Communication: Annual newsletters created and distributed Annual meeting (tonight) Website maintained (http://www.mitchelllake.org)

  10. 2012 Objectives- Summary • Host 6th annual lake cleanup • Assist in Continued Education for Lakeshore Restoration, rain gardens and barrels (Property Owner Initiatives) • Continue to actively participate with the Watershed District as Citizen Advisors • Explore lake re-classification • Weed Harvesting
