The Chapter of Excellence Award recognizes local AAHAM chapters for their outstanding efforts in achieving the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management's goals. This award is open to all chapters and aims to celebrate member participation in activities such as education programs, legislative issues, and membership growth. Members can play vital roles by initiating projects, presenting at programs, and contributing to the overall success of their chapters. Applications for the award must be submitted by July 31st, ensuring all chapters have the opportunity to shine.

Purpose of the Chapter Excellence Award • The Chapter of Excellence Award is designed to recognize and reward local AAHAM chapters for excellence in pursuing goals of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management. • The Chapter of Excellence Award application is intended to permit all chapters to participate in this awards program, regardless of size or location • Criteria are basic to a well-functioning chapter with active participation of its members
Application Procedures • Reporting period for all activities, programs & other data contained in the application is based on a fiscal year (current fy,7/1/2007 – 6/30/2008) • Application must be submitted no later than July 31st at AAHAM’s National Headquarters office • Keystone chapter application awarded under Division II (Thomas Paton Division) • 61 – 120 national members
Applications Contents • Application broken down by sections: • Programs & activities • Newly & existing certified members • National membership growth • Government & legislative issues • Education programs • Membership benefits
Scoring & Awards • AAHAM National Headquarters office receives application • Five judges score question section of application – the score is sum of averages • Awards presented at ANI banquet & awards ceremony • Each winning chapter has name inscribed on plaque & receives two free registrations for following year’s ANI
What Role Can Members Play? • Articles published in National AAHAM Journal • Name of article • Date published • Chapter is represented by a member at a National sponsored program • ANI • AAHAM Audio Conference • Need program agenda & attendee list
What Role Can Members Play (cont)? • Projects undertaken by the Chapter relating to 3rd Party Payer Issues at the National or Local level • Member initiate a specific project relating to 3rd party payer issues that the chapter can undertake • Describe project • Include objectives, activities undertaken & results of effort • Number of chapter members involved

Rewards for Members Donating Items for Chapter Excellence • For each submission you will receive a chance/entry for a $100.00 drawing at the December Keystone AAHAM meeting • For entry form and information to submit your item for Chapter Excellence visit the Keystone AAHAM web site @ www.keystoneaaham.org
