  1. Vel’s Group of Institutions was established in 1992 with the aim of transforming an individual into a complete man with character and ability committed to national service and development.

  2. Founded by Dr.IshariK.Ganesh, M.Com., B.L., Ph.D., a visionary and an eminent educationist, in fond memory of his father Shri. IsariVelan, the Former Deputy Minister in the popular Government of Dr. MGR.

  3. The main motive of VELS GROUP of Institutions, is to take education to the humble thresholds of first generation learners and weaker sections of the society.

The main objective of the institution is to produce high quality dental surgeons and provide quality dental treatment to the rural population • The focus of dentistry in the present times is not only on prevention and treatment of dental diseases but on meeting the demand for better aesthetics. • Thus, dentistry is emerging as one of the most progressive and challenging medical science

  9. Infrastructure: Faculty - The institution is headed by a renowned dentist, Dr. LoddMahendra, M.D.S., M.Orth., RCS (Edinburgh), Orthodontist, as principal & Dr. V. Rangarajan, M.D.S. (Prosthodontics), Diplomate of ICOI, as Vice Principal with a team of qualified, experienced & dedicated faculty to train the students.

  10. Laboratory – All departments in dentistry are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities & latest equipment. The establishment of the following laboratories in spacious halls is a special feature of this institution: Biochemistry Lab Anatomy museum Anatomy Dissection Lab

  12. Medical Camps – Rural dental health programmes are conducted regularly by the institution, which are compulsory for the students to gain clinical experience. Rural areas benefit by the institution’s Community Dentistry Programme. Tie-up Arrangement – The institution has a tie-up with Government Hospital, Tambaram at Chromepet for practical training & clinical study.

  13. Sports & Games – Indoor & Outdoor games facilities are available in the campus. Gymnasium with modern equipment has been installed in the campus premises. Hostel – The institution has its own hostel with furnished rooms & common halls for boys & girls separately. There are separate spacious dining halls also in the hostel.

  14. We have conducted, participated & won laurels in many academic programmes & public awareness campaigns.

  15. And now for the first time in the history of Chennai we are gearing up to organise the first South Indian Undergraduate Dental Convention inviting colleges from all the South Indian states namely Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa & the union territory of Pondicherry.
