  • Received advanced procurement approval December 18, 2009 for:
    • Sample Goniometer
    • Detector Mover
  • Final Instrument Design Review successfully held Feb 24, 2009
    • Procurement authorization for everything except OPA, multipass amplifier
  • Baseline change request processed to include large offset monochromator system for XPP
    • Procurement documents were reviewed at the XCS advanced procurement review April 24, 2009 and the documents are being updated

Laser Tables and Enclosure
  • Completed design of laser containment system and optical table layouts
    • Design review November 14, 2008
  • Laser tables are fabricated and are in storage in the control room.
    • Anchor holes are drilled and tables are ready to be installed once granite is installed
  • Enclosure PO placed April 20, 2009

Early Commissioning?

X-ray support tables are expected to be installed in July

Vacuum transport can/will be installed in the summer as well

Prototype X-ray diagnostics will be ready in the fall

Would be extremely beneficial to receive some early “machine time” to test prototype diagnostics, optics, materials, etc…

4-8 hours per week???

This would significantly reduce the risk and commissioning time allocated to the dedicated XPP instrument commissioning
