Interworking Interface • The Interworking interface allows the non-AP STA to transparently access the services provisioned in the SSPN via the currently associated BSS. • However, certain interworking services also allow the non-AP STA to access services in networks other than the SSPN. • How AP enforces this is outside the scope of Interworking Services. Note that Interworking Services are not supported in an IBSS Logical service interfaces. Stephen McCann, NSN

Emergency Services • Support for emergency services when the user is accessing their services via WLAN • Service Capability Advertisement • Admission control • Unauthenticated network access using public user credentials on a dedicated emergency services SSID. Authentication and Roaming Issues • 3GPP’s potential use of the new information provided by an IEEE 802.11u capable network to the AAA server in the mobile network for I-WLAN. • 3GPP’s potential use of the new control features provided by the IEEE 802.11u capable network from the AAA server in the mobile network for I-WLAN, for example QoS mapping between networks. Generic Advertising Service (GAS) • The purpose of GAS functionality is to enable the non-AP STA to identify the availability and information related to desired network services, e.g. information about available SSPs and/or SSPNs, located in the DS. • The requirement for this functionality was originally identified by deployment issues associated with public access hotspots where it is currently impossible for users to determine whether they will be able to access network services based solely on information currently advertised by the network. • There is a need for non-AP STAs in “state-1” to query for information on network services provided by SSPNs beyond an AP.
