Pre and Post treatment • Neo-Adjuvant is treatment prior to surgery in order to downstage the tumour • Adjuvant treatment is other treatment after surgery in order to lower the risk of tumour reccurence.
Radical or Palliative • Radical (Curative) • Majority are treated with a combination of treatments i.e. Surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy • Palliative
Surgery • Surgery is the most common treatment for solid tumours. • Exceptions would be breast tumours in the elderly
Radiotherapy • Treatment of disease with high energy radiation used to damage cancer cells • External • Teletherapy • Internally • Brachytherapy
