Client Services Focus • 9 School Visits or in person meetings Since July 1 • Cleveland Technology Fair 9.18.08 Bandwidth Statistics • Beginning of FY08 = 3022 Mbs • End of FY08 = 4297 Mbs • Current BW for FY09 = 4987 Mbs • Approximately a 39% Increase in bandwidth from the start of FY08 and the start of FY09. • Approximately a 9% Increase in I1 from 6/30/08 to 7/1/08.

  3. Client Services Focus New Co-location Facility has 11 current customers • 6 budgeted for ’08 with plans to move in fall New Academic members: • Mercy College-Connected • Lourdes College • Union Institute-delayed to next calendar year • Franciscan College-almost complete

  4. Client Services Focus • New FTE Pricing –Questions-concerns? • New GIG Opteman to Rio Grande to replace GIGAMAN to service University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College and hospitals and local government. • Marietta GIG Opteman Ordered to service Community

Client Services Focus • Dayton/Akron PoPs upgraded completed • Internet 2 • Conference in Oct. in New Orleans. • TJ and Ann to do Presentation for K-20 on Remote instrumentation projects in collaboration with OSC and member schools. • Participate in demo of Remote Instrumentation • Ohio K-12 connected July 1 to Internet 2 • Increased Collaboration efforts- combining efforts with OLN, OhioLink, eTECH • Video Collaboration OIT, eTech, OSC • OCLC PoP-Services -Almost Complete

Client Services Focus Emergency Web Hosting Notify your constituency of an emergency situation affecting your campus or facility! • Basic emergency web presence in the event that your primary web presence becomes unreachable. • Emergency Web Hosting • Oberlin College Pilot • Establish Yearly pricing

Emergency Web Hosting • This is a hosted service on the OSCnet State-of-the-art backbone. • OARnet provides all software and hardware for basic service. • Use secure FTP access to upload simple html pages to a web site with 1 GB of allotted storage space to access and maintain files. • This emergency site can provide as little or as much information as you wish your viewers to have in the event of an emergency. • Finally, switching to and from the emergency web site will be as easy as calling the OARnet Support Center and your web presence will available within 2 hours of your call.
