  3. Education Studied Physics at Case Institute of Technology in California Halfway through he switched from Physics to Mathematics In 1960, he received his bachelor of science degree simultaneously being given his masters in Science In 1963, he earned his PhD in Mathematics

  4. Contributions • Contributed to the development of the rigorous analysis of the computational complexity of algorithms and systematized formal mathematical techniques for it • Popularized the Asymptotic Notation • Creator of the TeX (Computer Typesetting System) • Created the WEB and CWEB computer programming systems • Metafont, font definition language and rendering system • Creater of the computer Modern family of typefaces
