  2. Jog Falls, Karnataka Jog Falls is one of India's tallest waterfalls, located in the Karnataka district of Shimoga. It is a segmented waterfall that drops from a height of 830 feet, making it a magnificent sight to behold. The waterfall is formed by the Sharavathi River and is surrounded by lush green forests. The river travels northwest through the Western Ghats, generating the Jog Falls before entering the Arabian Sea at Honavar in Thirthahalli taluk near Ambutheertha. Jog Falls is best visited in August and December.
