  5. CAT 2018: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 1. Educationalqualifications Acandidateholdingoneofthefollowingeducationalqualificationsiseligibletositfortheexam: Possess a bachelor's degree with at least 50% points or an equivalent CAG [45% for candidates in the following categories: ScheduledCaste (SC),RegisteredTribe(ST)andPersonwithDisability(PWD)]oraneducationalinstitutionincorporatedbyanActof ParliamentortheStateLegislatureinIndiaordeclaredtobeauniversityundersection3ofthe1956 UGCActorhavinganequivalent qualificationrecognizedbytheDepartmentofResourceshuman. Haveanequivalentqualificationrecognizedbythe MinistryofHumanResources,theGovernmentofIndia(includingtheAssociate EntranceExamination(AMICE)oftheInstitutionofCivilEngineers(India)asequivalentqualification). Thepercentageobtainedatthebaccalaureatelevelwouldbecalculatedaccordingtothepracticefollowedbytheuniversityor institutionconcerned. In the case of grades or MBM, the conversion would be based on the process defined by the university or institution concerned. Thecandidate'sMBMwillbedividedbythemaximumpossibleMBMandmultiplytheresultby 100 intheabsenceofapercentage conversionplan. CandidatesapplyingforthefinalyearofthebaccalaureateorequivalentqualificationarealsoeligiblefortheCATexam. 2.Age Thereis noagerequirementfortakingtheCATexamiftheothercriteriaaremet. Inaccordancewithlegalrequirements,15%oftheseatsarereservedforScheduledCaste(SC) candidatesand7.5%forScheduled Tribes(ST)candidates.27%oftheplacesarereservedfortheothercandidatebackwardclassesbelongingtothe"non-creamy"layer (NC-OBC). http://iimcat2018.in/

  9. CAT 2018: EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS Mode ofExam CAT is not an online exam. It is a digital or Computer Based Test (CBT); not an Internet-Based Test (IBT);thatis,acandidatewillnottaketheexamonaninternetsite.Insteadofreadingthequestions in a paper booklet and darkening the ovals on the answer-sheet, a candidate will read the questionsonacomputerterminalandchooseananswerbyclickingonthecorrectoption.
