  2. Let’s Start • Start Firefox • Go to your website

  3. Look at the HTML Code • View -> Page Source • Edit -> Find “ua-” or “google”

  4. IP Address • Search Google for “what is my ip” • Click one of the top results • Your Internet Address • Every Internet Connection • Every Website

  5. Sign Up for Google Analytics • Search Google for “analytics” • Click “Sign Up Now” • Fill in the info • Including the CAPATCHA

  6. 1st Log In • Check email • Click link in email • Click Analytics • Click Sign Up • Enter info • Hint Timezone for Vermont is GMT -5 • Continue

  7. Set Up • Enter info • Click Continue • Check Yes • Click Create • Single domain (for most people) • Copy the Code • (wait on this) Click Save and Finish

  8. Save the Code • Open a Text editor (Notepad++) • Paste the code • Save as “a good name”

  9. Add to Website • Add page to your own website • We are going to use an FTP program

  10. FTP programs • Install the FireFTP extension in Firefox • Tools -> Add-ons -> Get -> Search for “fireftp” • Select FireFTP • Add -> (wait) -> install -> restart • Tools -> FireFTP

  11. FTP Settings • You’ll need to know your website information: • Host or Address (ftp.mywebsite.com) • Username or Login • Password • Port (usually a standard like port 21)

  12. Download • On the right side (Server) select a file to edit • index.html is usually your home page • On the left side (local, i.e. your computer) navigate to a folder • Click the left arrow to download the file

  13. Add Code • Open the file in any text editor • I like notepad++ • Put the cursor near the bottom • Just in front of the close body tag “</body>” • Click <enter> and paste • Save as your first name

  14. Upload • In FireFTP • We now do the reverse of downloading • On the left (local) select the new file • Click the right arrow
