  2. Alternative Fuels Overview E85 dispenser market poised to take off after years of potential Market Drivers • Increasing fuel prices • Favorable spread between gasoline and E85 • Economic incentives from recent legislation • Transportation bill: 51¢/gal. credit for ethanol blenders • Energy bill: up to $30K infrastructure credit • Energy dependency • Homegrown fuel source gaining momentum • Vehicle population growth • Mfrs. increasing flex fuel models Product compatibility challenge • Ethanol is corrosive in this formulation and requires special treatment • Attacks aluminum, brass and fluid seals • Uncharted regulation territory • Lack of UL product standard for direction • States beginning to require UL approval • Development decision • Use third party OEM or create special in-house hydraulics

  3. E85 Compatibility E85 requires special treatment of components Affected Hydraulics Fuel meter Fuel control valve • Corrosive nature of fuel can leech molecules from metals and deposit within fuel system • Fluid carrying components and castings • Require nickel plating or hard anodizing • Ovation top manifold design presents challenge • Fuel and vapor piping • Aluminum tubing replaced by Schedule 40 black iron • Seals • O-rings upgraded to Viton GFLT • Hanging hardware • Hoses, nozzles need to be compatible Fluid piping and seals Manifolds and fittings

  4. E85 Vapor Recovery We’re getting closer but there are still challenges to overcome • Enhanced Vapor Recovery program • Industry already challenged by meeting current guidelines for standard fuel • Millions of $$$ already spent on EVR program • Business ROI unknown in a promising but unproven market • E85 meets CA fuels definition but yet to determine emission effect or cost/benefit analysis • Unlike standard fuel, E85 does not have fallback provision for pre-EVR rules in rest of country • Implementation of CP-205 novel facility a welcome step • UL Approval • Prerequisite for ARB certification • Standard equipment compatible to 15% ethanol • UL has not published a standard for E85 • Cited lack of test protocol/definition for compatibility • Little market demand kept it off front burner until now • Testing • Balance sites at Vandenberg Air Force Base and RTC have been operating for several years • Plan for multiple R&D sites in initial phase

  5. E85 Product Development Wayne E85 models available in March Partner with Clean Fuel USA • Established name in industry • Supplier for E85 and propane equipment since 1993 • Using experience to establish approval standard with UL • Upfit Wayne dispenser ‘shells’ with compatible hydraulics which interface to iGEM pump electronics Wayne E85 Plans • First UL and W&M approved product on the market • Features black iron pipe, nickel plated castings & control valve and compatible fuel meter • Sameoptions available as equivalent std. model • Same warranty as equivalent standard model • Estimated order of release • Single product Vista • Single product Ovation; 3+1 Ovation/ Vista • Vista/Ovation blenders NASA Space Center test site

  6. Alternative Fuels Development Fast-tracking a solution with longer term plans Wayne Alternative Fuel Road Map Planning for availability across all models • Market entry with CF USA relationship • Short-term: Phased product release • Initial release w/Vista, Century/Select • Subsequent with blending & Ovation • Dispenser only, no suction pumps • Longer-term: Development of model series using Wayne next generation components • Improved cost position to coincide with market rise • Leverage performance and compatibility advantage with next generation Xflo meter design • Global platform; could also support propane • Consider suction offering • Continue to strengthen CleanFuel partnership Ovation Vista Century/Select
