Textbook Answers 1) The gamma rays can penetrate to these cells and ionise molecules. 2) X-rays are less energetic than gamma rays. 3) They absorb X-rays and gamma rays. 4) X-rays and gamma rays can penetrate the body and form images of organs and tissues. 5) More willing to accept risks (of side effects) for a short time and if there is a known problem. 6) People are more familiar with travelling by car; they also feel more in control.
