  2. AccessText Network Overview • What: Membership Driven Service Network. Publisher members provide alternative textbooks by leveraging an request, approval, fulfillment and tracking web based portal. • Why: A central place for DSS and publisher services and feedback. Based on the volume and variety of requests and methods increasingly taxing for DSS and publishers. • Who: Funding provided by the Association of American Publishers (AAP), Charter Publishers including Bedford, Freeman & Worth, Cengage, CQ Press, Elsevier, McGraw-Hill, Pearson, Wiley, WW Norton and the University System of Georgia’s Alternative Media Access Center

AccessText Network Advisory Committee • 12 committee members which includes 7 DSS and 5 Publisher members • 2 alternate DSS advisory committee members will participate for full representation • Two year term for DSS members started March 1, 2009 • To nominate a members for the 2nd term contact membership@accesstext.org

AccessText Services • Obtain file faster through a unified publisher agreement • Central service to access a expanding publishers network. • Publisher-sanctioned network with one single authorization • More publisher files delivered. Less Chopping and Scanning. Reduce Office Cost.. • Web-based request, approval, and fulfillment • Automatic way to maintain and track records, create reports for compliance. • Technical support, training and resouces

Progress Since AHEAD 2008 • July, AHEAD 2008 Reno: first public announcement of ATN • November, Agreement signed between AAP and USG/AMAC • December, Website Launched, Publisher Site Visits • January, Introductory Advisory Committee meeting • March, CSUN presentation • April, First full Advisory Committee meeting • May, Application testing with publishers • June, Publishers begin processing requests
