During the combined years 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009

  • 22.0 percent of Utahns reported arthritis.
      • Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders (14.0 percent)
      • Hispanics/Latinos (18.8 percent)
  • 6.4 percent of Utahns reported diabetes.
    • Prevalence rate of diabetes higher among special populations
      • Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders (7.0 percent)
      • Hispanics/Latinos (9.7 percent)
  • Among Utahns who reported diabetes, 50.1 percent alsoreported having arthritis.

    • Organization with a focus exclusively on the Pacific Islander population (primarily Tongans, Samoans and Hawaiians)
    • NTAS has been serving Pacific Islanders since 1995

    • ACS has been serving Hispanics since 2002

    • Since 2009, ACS has been the lead agency responsible for reaching and connecting Hispanic-serving organizations with Tomando Control, and increasing delivery to these groups
