  2. What does this mean? • Numbered heads is a cooperative learning strategy. • The class is split up into groups of 4 students. • Each group is given a number, and each student is given a number. • For example, you could be Student #1 from group #3.

What does this look like in the classroom? • Step 1: Split the class into groups • Step 2: Split the groups by numbering each student within the group • Step 3: Ask a question to the class. • Step 4: Have students discuss the answer to the question, making sure all students know the answer. • Step 5: Select a student number to share. • Step 6: Select a group number to share.
