The University has drawn ambitious plan to make KIIT campus totally vehicle free. In the first phase, use of two-wheelers, both by students and staffs, has been prohibited, after putting in place an effective alternative transport arrangement. KIIT has also implemented paperless administration. Green Audit of the campus is done annually. The Times World University Ranking is widely followed by academia including students in deciding their institute of choice for pursuing higher education. Several academicians have hailed the achievement of KIIT which, despite being a relatively new university in comparison to the respected and legacy institutes, has placed itself in the league of coveted universities.
