Firmware Upgrading With UCM05 and Comfigurator
Firmware Upgrading • Why Upgrade Firmware? • To fix bugs • To add new features • UCM05 is required to upgrade Comfort II Flash versions (ie min 5.100). UCM 5.174 min is recommended. UCM 5.147 is min version able to upgrade UCM, Slaves and MPU01. UCM5.156 able to upgrade Comfort • Comfort II, Slaves, UCMs can be upgraded for firmware >= 5.100
Upgrading for Firmware < 5.100 • For Comfort II and Slave < 5.100, use MPU plug in to upgrade to Flashable. Once MPU is plugged in, it can be upgraded.
Upgrading Firmware • Connect Programming Cable with 2 ends (6 way and 2 way) to UCM doing the programming. The other end with 6 way is connected to the Module being upgraded • Shunt PP2 header to enable firmware upgrade

Upgrading Firmware • Upgrading UCMs – You need a UCM05 to upgrade a UCM05. • Upgrading UCMs and Slaves. The module being upgraded should not be connected to Comfort • Upgrading Comfort. If UCM05 is upgrading its own Comfort, after programming cable is connected, Comfort does not work, and keypads will start beeping. Disconnect siren and keypads if too noisy.
Upgrading Firmware • Firmware (.cbf files) can be downloaded from www.comfortforums.com/upgrades.html • Comfigurator > Menu Transfer > Firmware Upgrade… • Browse and select the .cbf file • Only the same firmware type is allowed to be upgraded, eg Ultra II to Ultra II, UCM/CBUS to UCM/CBUS etc. • Transfer starts and takes 30 seconds to several minutes depending on the file. See Progress bar • After upgrading is completed, remove programming cable, remove PP2 and Reset Comfort • If any errors occur during upgrade, repeat the process
