  21. What Should We Ask for Others? • We ask God to bless them spiritually. 4. We ask God to bless them socially. • Unity

  22. Ephesians 5:31-33 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

  23. Ephesians 6:1-4 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

  24. John 17:20-21 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

  25. John 17:22-23 22 “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

  26. What Should We Ask for Others? • We ask God to bless them intellectually. • We ask God to bless them physically. • We ask God to bless them spiritually. 4. We ask God to bless them socially. • Unity • Love

  27. Colossians 3:14 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

  28. Romans 13:10 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

  29. 1 Peter 4:8 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

  30. Philippians 1:9-11 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

  31. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

  32. Why Should We Intercede? 1. God commands it. 2. By doing so we invite God to act in the lives of others. 3. By doing so we empower the saints. 4. By doing so we improve society. 5. By doing so we follow the example of Jesus.
