  2. What are piles all about? Piles, medically known as hemorrhoids are enlarged and swollen blood vessels that become inflamed and are found in the anal canal. They blood vessels appear in the form of masses and contain support tissues and elastic fibers. Piles are normally associated with pain and bleeding while defecating. http://www.colorectalcentre.com

  5. What are the signs and symptoms of piles? • In most cases hemorrhoids are not serious and go away on their own after a few days. Following are the symptoms of piles: • A solid lump may be felt around the anus. It consists of coagulated blood, called a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.
