CALENDAR August 8, 2022 admin Blog  August 2022 How Does Climate Change Affect Respiratory Health? We know that climate change threatens our public health and the environment. According to Respiratory disease expert, Dr. Nishtha Singh, human activity and expansion are the main causes of climate change. CO2 emissions from human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, change the Earth’s natural atmospheric greenhouse, leading to air pollution, vector- borne diseases, allergens, water quality, food supply, environmental degradation, extreme heat, and severe weather. NISHTHA SINGH DOES CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECT 29 30 31   According to the allergy specialist, climate change will impact air pollution, vector- borne diseases, allergens, water quality, and water and food supply. There is a severe threat to health from all of these changes. As of 2030, climate change is estimated to cost between 2 and 4 billion dollars in direct damage to health (excluding factors such as agriculture, water, and sanitation). We can reduce climate change’s impact on health and air pollution by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through better transportation, food, and energy use. Let’s discuss in detail how climate affects respiratory health. Read out!     « JUL THE ASTHMATICS IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON In addition to directly causing or aggravating preexisting respiratory diseases, climate change increases exposure to respiratory disease risk factors. Asthma may be caused by air pollution, according to current research. Air and water pollution caused by climate change can cause and aggravate chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma. As a result of climate change, airways are in?amed, and lung tissue is damaged. Ground-level ozone levels increase as temperatures rise. Children, the elderly, people with lung disease, and people who spend a lot of time outdoors are the most vulnerable to ground-level ozone. Asthma is more likely to occur in children than adults due to ground-level ozone. People with asthma visit emergency rooms and are hospitalize more frequently when ground-level ozone pollution spikes. THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON ALLERGY SUFFERERS A warmer climate has resulted in an 11 to a 27-day extension of the U.S. pollen season from 1995 to 2011. Flowering occurs earlier, and carbon dioxide emissions increase due to warmer temperatures caused by climate change. Changing temperatures increase pollen concentrations in the air, airborne allergen strength, and allergic symptoms.

  2. People without allergies may develop allergies when exposed to stronger amounts of pollen and mold.  drnishthasingh@gmail.com Emergency Line (+91) 946 1685 766 PATIENTS RESOURCES ‣ TREATMENT ‣ GALLERY ‣ HOME MEDICAL QUALIFICATION PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION PUBLICATION CONTACT BLOG EBUS RESPIRATORY HEALTH AND CLIMATE CHANGE Asthma and COPD, as well as other serious lung diseases, are signi?cantly affected by changes in meteorological parameters. A few weeks earlier than expected, some people with lung disease died due to an extreme event (known as the “harvesting effect”). Children are also more likely to suffer from respiratory diseases during heat waves. Asthma symptoms are trigger by extreme heat and high humidity. Asthma is also associated with cyclones. Individuals with COPD exposed to cold weather will develop more respiratory infections due to increased cold exposure. Also you can visit What are Monsoon Allergies? Types of Monsoon Allergies and Prevention to know more about How Does Climate Change Affect Respiratory Health ALLERGIES TO MOLD AND POLLEN Climate change is likely to extend the allergic season of plants and increase human exposure to allergens. Over the long term, warming will likely affect plant habitats and species densities, shifting gradually northward in the Northern Hemisphere and southward in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition, some essential allergenic species, such as grasses, may also be affect by changes in land use. Over Europe, pollen allergy has a signi?cant clinical impact. RESPIRATORY HEALTH EFFECTS OF OUTDOOR AND INDOOR AIR POLLUTION A person’s response to air pollution depends on various factors, including the source, the composition, and the climatic conditions. Multiple diseases, including respiratory diseases, may be affect by climate change. Various medications will be use more frequently as a result of these changes. It is not yet clear how much-increased drug use has occurred. CONCLUSION In the coming years, it is predict that environmental risk factors will have a stronger impact on many physical and biological systems, including the immune and respiratory systems. Two mechanisms in?uence the impact of allergenic pollen species caused by chemical air pollutants and anthropogenic aerosols.
