Recovery & Rehabilitation After Arthroscopy Arthroscopy is a very effective and time consuming procedure with lot of merits and advantages, Along with all the advantages like minimally invasive, no blood loss, small cuts, no infection risk, early recovery is an important factor that make it a better option and a great tool for surgeon and as well as for the patient as well. It also requires less time and less preparations to be done. As it's a minimal invasive technique no blood loss happens hence the recovery is very fast and easy. It also contains 3 dimensional assessment of the joint hence ensuring higher accuracy for the arthroscopy surgeon in Indore. Generally recovery after and Arthroscopy takes around 1 week to several Months depending upon the site of injury or the condition the patient has came with. Along with this there are several other factors on which the recovery depends such as- • Affected joints - basic example, the complex joints of body ie the knee and the hip joint tends to have a longer recovery period then the normal small joints of body like wrist Arthroscopy Or in condition like joint repair it takes less time to recover. • The recovery plan - in every condition the recovery plan is different it means the amount of medicine or the exercise levels varies in different conditions rehabilitation so the recovery plan play's a major role. • Physiotherapy - in the conditions where the pt has been treated by Arthroscopy, physiotherapy or physical therapy plays a major role in rehabilitation as to recover the lost functions of the joint or the area affected, also they provide various protocols for early recovery possible. Minimal pain will be observed by the person at the site of surgery. Pain killer medications will be prescribed and light exercise will be prescribed after few weeks. After 24 hours of the surgery cryotherapy is advised to reduce the swelling or redness on the joint being treated by Arthroscopy. #Rehabilitation in Arthroscopy:- Basic goals of rehabilitation after Arthroscopy are- •Allow healing •Reduce overuse of joints •Protect the joint from overstress •Regain lost range of motion •Pain management •Increase muscle strength Basic exercise that will be helpful post surgery includes • Hamstring contraction • left raises exercise • Buttock tucks • Terminal knee extension • Partiall supported squats • Standing quadriceps stretch • Forward step ups Recovery and rehabilitation depends upon several factors that varies from person to person and into different conditions.
