  2. Bloating and Gas While it’s normal to experience bloating occasionally, excessive or constant gas might be an indication that you have a gastrointestinal problem. This could mean that you are not digesting certain foods correctly. Keeping a food diary may be a way for you to identify what might be bothering your gut. Heartburn and Acid Reflux That burning feeling in your chest is usually an indication that stomach acid is entering the esophagus. Occasional heartburn is normal, but frequent heartburn may require further investigating GI issues such as gastroesophageal reflux disease.

  3. Food Sensitivities and Intolerances Your gut may not tolerate certain foods, leading to symptoms such as bloating, gas, and even some skin rashes. Identifying these intolerances may help improve digestion and general well-being. You may try an elimination diet or discuss with your physician what you are experiencing to help you identify your food tolerance (or lack of).
