  1. The Art of Slow Living in a Fast-Paced World Dr. Jordan Atkinson B.Sc. ND

  2. Take Short Breaks Pay attention to breathing. Be aware of physical sensations in your body. Just a few minutes of mindful focus can profoundly bring down feelings of stress. Connect with Nature Going for a walk outdoors, standing or sitting near a lake, or even a walk in the garden to connect with nature can have a calming effect on your mind. This connection to nature can not only help to lower stress hormones, it can also improve your mood.

  3. Nourish Your Body with Whole Foods A very simple and effective way to lower stress is to eat a diet that is high in whole, unprocessed food - this will give your body the nutrients it needs to deal with stress. Plan your Downtime Look at your future calendar and block out time just for you to read, take bath, or literally do absolutely nothing.

  4. Practice Gratitude Daily Every day take a few moments to briefly think of things you are grateful for. This simple practice helps you to think less about stress and think more about the positive parts of your life.

  5. Thank You
