  5. Two-Page Curriculum Worksheet – General Overview

  6. Relationship: General Education & Concentrations • The upper half of the left column represents the university core that all students must complete to earn a bachelor’s degree. • The lower half of the left column represents other requirements. • The right column upper half lists the groups of concentrations. • By completing the Core Requirements you also fulfill all but 9 hours of the Social Science concentration.

  7. Confused? Though it may seem a little confusing at first, the BGS degrees allows a student to explore his/her interests while letting him/her complete a bachelor’s degree.

  8. Declared Concentration and Minor • Most students will chose their minor from the same area of their concentration. • You are allowed to “double-dip” and use some classes in more than one area. • Later, we will see such an example from Sally Jo’s courses.

  9. Curriculum Worksheet Example: Sally Jo Thomas • Let’s look at Sally Jo’s coursework • Sally Jo is a junior Bachelor of General Studies student who has taken a variety of courses • She has declared a concentration and minor in Social Science
