  2. Dr Gerald M Sacks Sheds Light on the Concept of Opioid Induced Constipation Dr Gerald M Sacks states that there is a myth among people that OIC is not treatable. It is the responsibility of the practitioners to acknowledge this problem and discuss about which medicine will be beneficial for them. They can also recommend methylnaltrexone to inhibit the opioid effect on the gut.

  3. He Further Explains Additional Treatment for OIC Management Dr Sacks links the role of lifestyle modifications and over-the-counter products to prevent it in patients. He states that it is the last thing for a patient to go to the emergency department for a manual disimpaction. Various stool softeners can be used to prevent adverse effects from opioids.
