  1. ANGIOPLASTY

  2. What is Angioplasty? Angioplasty is a procedure to restore blood flow through the artery. You have angioplasty in a hospital. The doctor threads a thin tube through a blood vessel in the arm or groin up to the involved site in the artery. The tube has a tiny balloon on the end For More Info Call @ +9198394 67858 or Visit- drgautamswaroop.in

  3. Precautions After Angioplasty • Quit smoking. • Lower your cholesterol levels. • Eat a healthy diet that is low in saturated fat. • Maintain a healthy weight. • Control other conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. • Get regular exercise. • Take medications as prescribed by your doctor. 4. What Cause Angioplasty? Are having a heart attack .Have frequent or severe angina. ...Have evidence of severely reduced blood flow (ischemia) to an area of heart muscle caused by one or more narrowed coronary arteries.Have a narrowed or blocked artery that is likely to be treated successfully with angioplasty. For More Info Call @ +9198394 67858 or Visit- drgautamswaroop.in

  5. During angioplasty, a doctor inserts acatheter through a vessel in the femoralartery at the top of the thigh or the radialartery in the wrist. After the catheter is snakedup into the blockedor narrowed artery in the heart, a balloon at its tip expands, pressing a wire-mesh stent into the artery wall. For More Info Call @ +9198394 67858 or Visit- drgautamswaroop.in

  6. The Procedure Angioplasty is performed while you are awake, under local anesthetic. It's sometimes uncomfortable, but not usually painful. The surgeon makes a small incision in the groin or arm and inserts a thin tube, called a catheter, into the artery. The catheter includes a small balloon and a small wire tube, called a stent. Once the catheter is in place, a dye is injected and X-rays are taken, which tell the physician exactly where the blockages are and how narrow the artery is. This is also known as an angiogram and functions as a map for the doctor. For More Info Call @ +9198394 67858 or Visit- drgautamswaroop.in

  10. Possible Complications Angioplasty is safer than bypass surgery. Less than 1% of people die from complications of angioplasty. Non-fatal serious complications occur in 1% to 5% of people who undergo this procedure. These complications include: tearing of the lining of the artery resulting in total blockage and possible heart attack - this can usually be repaired with a stent stroke from a clot that is dislodged while the catheter is inside the bodybleeding or bruisingkidney problems, especially in people with underlying kidney disease and diabetes – this is caused by the iodine contrast dye used for the X-ray; intravenous fluids and medications can be given before and after the procedure to try to reduce this risk For More Info Call @ +9198394 67858 or Visit- drgautamswaroop.in

  11. How Serious Is an Angioplasty As with all types of surgery, coronary angioplasty carries a risk of complications. However, the risk of serious problems is small. Complications can occur during or after an angioplasty. It's common to have bleeding or bruising under the skin where the catheter was inserted.
